My Favorite Holiday
Some may choose not to participate in such commercialized holidays, and it may be too soon to bounce back from the holiday debt, but everyone loves to know that they are loved (even if they might be too afraid to say it first). Everything is red, flowers, balloons and teddy bears are more tempting, and let’s not forget the chocolate indulgence! Of all the holidays that revolve around candy, I would pick Valentine’s day over Halloween any day of the year. I can also wear whatever I want.
Tomorrow is my birthday! I’ve been given the chance to turn a year older, and when love is the annual theme, I only have positive feelings. I haven’t had any major illnesses or had to worry about my health in my 20s, but that doesn’t mean I take life for granted. I see people suffering every day, and sometimes I wonder when will it be my turn…it’s a terrible thought, but then I realize I have to be strong and well for my patients to get better. So I focus on my habits, my thoughts, the way I am in my relationships, and being good to myself. Forgiving myself and others for the little things, or the big things that take longer to let go of. I am inspired by those who know how to forgive. Being aware of my emotions without letting them have control of me. When I am finally at peace, I find that my heart is bursting with love for the earth and the living things that are trying to survive.
I hope you will nurture your relationships so they can survive, because although not tangible, it is living inside of you.
